Says it's not available in my country because it contains content from Victor Entertainment, Inc.

Likewise. Sad, as it looks to be perhaps useful.

Interesting. I have been thinking about doing a test with polyurethane casting.

We strengthened four engine mount bushings from our “team CRX” by filling them with single compound rubber. This wasn’t completely smart idea as we did this with loose bushings. And installing the last was really hard as the other three had “solidified” in different form as they would normally be while the engine was hanging from these.

So at least the last one should be cured while it is installed. The curing time for our rubber was days and it was quite soft rubber.

So uh, well as someone who works with power train mounts every day. This is NOT recommended, for more than a few reasons. First while it may seem like the polyurethane will bond to the metal components, the bond isn’t strong enough for more than a couple of load cycles before it breaks down, and when the steel and poly separate, that’s bad news for your mount system. Second polyurethane comes in many many different chemical varities, some are designed for the high heat of an under hood environment some are not. Third, strengthening only 1 mount in a power train mount system can lead to some very unexpected results. (Cracked bell housings, broken mounts, cracked blocks) my advice is to ONLY use mounts specifically designed for your vehicle. One thing that I have seen that will have less of an impact is if you use the factory rubber mounts and fill Any open voided areas with polyurethane. This will stiffen the mount, but will still leave some compliance and the structure of the rubber mount underneath.

1) you can see in the video it’s not bonded to the metal, that I already knew and fortunately there is enough inner structure to allow it to act as an insert.

2) This poly is designed for casting and will take heat just fine. It’s also not in the engine bay. Genesis coupe is an FR layout and the trans mount is not subject to nearly the temps the engine bay is.

3) What I did exactly was fill the factory mount voids with poly. So yes, we seem to be in agreement. I retain the factory safety loop, and stiffen the mount.

VPN is all I can say then. I looked at the settings, it’s public and works in every county but the US. I blame Drumpf.

And yes I did do research on strengthening one mount in the drive train. The concerns over cracking my diff housing or shearing a diff bolt were exactly why I went with a 44a hardness versus the much harder option out there. I want some flex while still stiffening the mount to help reduce wheel hop and better deliver the power to the ground. The transmission mount is a known issue with this car.

The factory trans mount is so soft that it causes a whipping motion in the drive train and the factory diff bolts either shear or work themselves out. There is a TSB for this. The only available aftermarket mount is 70a and in my opinion is way to hard and will contribute to the other issues you mentioned.

Very good point, I’ll have to find some creative commons music with a similar vibe and do it again.
